Internet Based Bagpipe Lessons

For some time now, Winkie's more distant students have been taking lessons via the Internet. From Florida, Alabama and West Virginia it's a no-brainer - the distances are just too great, and good quality local instruction is simply not available.

The world around us is changing. $4.00 gas, gas shortages, traffic conditions and overloaded schedules all conspire to prevent you from getting to Winkie's studio for your regular lesson. Even students in the local area are feeling the pinch.

The Internet Solution

Getting started is easier than you think! If you use the Internet at all (and who doesn't these days?) a little equipment and free software will get you on your way for less than the cost of a tank of gas! What you need:

• A video camera - (Winter has a Logitech Webcam that costs less than $50) - get the most pixels for your money, the rest doesn't really matter
• A microphone for your computer, if your video camera does not have one
• Broadband Internet access - cable or DSL
• Free software at skype.com (it's free, skype user to skype user) Winkie's skype name is winter2960.

It really works well and can help a lot. Saves your commute time and expenses - and you're at home ready to do something else when we finish your lesson.
